signal flasher unit

Well, yesterday my turn signal flasher unit packed it in... went to Lordco and a few other parts stores but had no luck. They all say 8 weeks to back order one in. My question- does anyone have a spare flasher unit kicking around? maybe in an old parts car or something?
Any help is appreciated; it sucks driving with no signals!

I need to get a new one as well, one that doesn't have a 1 flash ever 4 seconds when the headlights are on, every 6 seconds when the bright lights are on, and almost not at all, if the car isn't running......................

If I can find one somewhere, I'll let you k now where you can buy one (Autozone/napa/schucks, etc.) and supply you with a part number. Peace and good luck!
