L20b into 2dr 510

Post by senza.fortuna@attbi.com »

Does a L20b bolt straight on with no mods to get the engine working in a 510?

pretty much. it stands about 1 inch or so taller then a 16 or 18. so you may have to do soem minor mods with the mounts (lower the engine) and exaust)

Does anyone know where I can find detailed instructions on installing a rebuilt Z22E with a 280zx 5-speed trans and put them both in a 510?
P.S. I am assuming a ZZ22E is the same thing as a lz22.
NISSAN - 2187cc - Z22E - 4 cyl - year 81-84 - 200sx, 720 P/U, Ok To Use - part# 320 - $ 1395

LZ and Z are different. the LZ intakes and exausts on the drivers side. its also carbed. the Z has a cross flow head with EFI. Talk to tobie he just finished a Z20E swap.

An LZ22 is just a 2.2 litre NapsZ bottom end with a L series head on it.
It might be an idea for you to grab that engine you're talking about and then stick an L-series head on it...and you're set.

Obviously there is a bit more to it...but I'll leave that to the few on this board that have already done it!
