Z2.2-L20B info

Post by CP »

I need a little info regarding this engine combiation in a 510. This is a result of picking up a car that someone else has modified and we don't know what the hell he did or what parts he used. The problem we have right now is figuring out how much oil this thing takes, as I don't think the dipstick is accurate.

What car is a Z2.2 out of? Or what oil filter does it take?

Does this engine fit into a 510 with the stock oil pan?

Any info helps!

stock pan I believe is front sump so no. the 510 pan bolts on with minor mods.

Z22 came from I beleave the 200sx and 720 pickup.

To use the LZ 2.2 block and the 510 oil pan - you need to drill out the boss on the block to match the 510 location (just behind the oil filter) and plug off the 200SX or 720 location. This block was made to fit everything - so the bosses are cast in. As for the oil pan, there are no mods needing to be done at all, it will bolt strait on as long as you use the L20B front cover. Oil filter -use stock 510, or better yet, Ford V8 P/U.
