Thanks for those.

So it looks like we just need to tool up fort a custom set of headers as there appears to be space - more typical of a standard V8 style header where the headers hug the top side of the head/block rearwards and then dump down towards the rear of the engine. I foresee the collector in a more vertical position parallel to the fire wall - maybe with a nice set of snakes sticking out the front... or a turbo :D

There is room both above and below the shaft to run header pipes. If I had more time I'd make a custom header with two pipes going above and two below joining in the collector further downstream. A short un-equal length header like this is far from ideal but for now....

Remember the steering rack is mounted on the opposite side so it will convert it to LHD and the steering is also faster with our steering arms. So that rack will be more like a less then 1.9 lock to lock. There is a multiplier on our web site that will tell you the speed it will be.

I got that part number from the site listed on your webpage. Would a 2.4 be better for a sr20det street car. Not sure which one to get don't wanna fudge this up. Any help will be greatly appreciated sense I've already fully committed to going this route. Sold just about all my parts time to hit your web page heheh

I just completed this same install, and went with the 2.9 OEM style rack. The multiplier equates to 2.436 in the car. I just a half hour ago moved the car for the first time since installing it. Out one driveway and into the next one, that's it. I have a primarily street "72 KA turbo car, and a slowly healing shoulder injury, and the steering felt quite heavy cranking it around in a small space at low speed. The precision was awesome mind you. Compared to the stock 3.0 box it's almost 20% tighter, so compared to what you are used to that is going to be really noticeable. I like the fact that you can change racks whenever you want, but can't see wanting a tighter ratio for this car based on how I intend to use it for the majority of the time. Can't wait to get the steering aligned and start testing the new steering out. I have a suspicion it is going to be amazing compared to what it was. Felt like a slot car in the driveway.

I can't honestly say what you should get. Our enduro car has the 2.9 rack which makes it arond 2.5 I honestly can't tell the difference from my daily that has the 86 rack in it. Which I think is about 2.8 compared to stock which is over 3 I think around 3.5.

We autoxed our enduro car and it does feel kinda heavy. Although it's got 225's on it as well. I was 400ths of a second off 3rd place in RWD class! So close! It's totally doable even on a tight corners. Carter Autoxed his dialy 510 a month or two ago, his biggest coment after autoxing the enduro car was how nice the faster steering was compared to his daily which still has a steering box. Just in case Keith is reading this Carter was about 1.6 seconds slower then me and Sam was about 3 seconds slower then me. All this driving is paying off!

I think getting the slowest rack is would be best, if you think faster would be fun to try it's not that hard to swap them out. We made this version so you can remove the rack with the engine in. We did this because there are so many different rack ratios, I want to try them all.

As a final not buy 1 of each set of bushings they sell. They are made so damn cheap some don't fit worth a damn. Almost beyond believe they are all supposed to fit the same rack....

I’m with Jason. KA24DET street car here with 2.4 resultant ratio but I haven’t driven it yet at all. My S14 had a hicas rack that’s 2.4-2.5 turns lock to lock and that was with power steering. It felt playful and tight. I think any more is over the top for a street car.

Too stiff is no fun. I figured I’d start with the cheap rack first and if it’s too slow then I can spend more $$ and swap racks.

Hey fellas I forgot to ask. I have 280sx struts. Is there a different set of bump steer spacer we are supposed to run with this set up? I didn't see it listed on the website as a part we need to purchase. I need to get a set if we do.

It is going to depend on how lowered your car is, and what angle the LCAs are to the ground. Keep in mind that the inside mount for the LCA sits higher with the JBC cross member than the stock cross member. My car is not as low as some, and prior to the rack & pinion conversion my LCAs were exactly parallel to the ground (using a 1" bump steer spacer). Today, using the same bump steer spacer, the LCAs are pointing downward toward the strut at approximately 4 degrees. This is perfect as far as I am concerned, as under suspension compression the LCAs will see a horizontal angle at most. I know that with some of the really low cars (Jeff), depending on the size of bump steer spacer used, the LCAs can be pointing up hill towards the hub, which is not ideal. The new JBC cross member will get this angle closer to horizontal which is much more desirable.

Thanks JasonLee . I have an SR in my car and I don't think I will be going as low as I would like to due to the way the Greddy oil pan sets in there. So im limited on how low I can go. I don't have a set at the moment sold those along time ago when I had switched over to the GTX2 set. Now running the FUTOFAB LCA. Maybe I should get a set just in case.

Did you mean to say 200SX?
