That's why I finally went to Modified class, as I was having too much fun just developing the motor, etc, and hated trying to count points just to be legal. I was about to be protested because I had a fiberglass hood, as though that made a difference, but, I could not have it because of the rules. So, Modified it was.

My 1800, that I think 510Trevor has now, was a totally competitive motor, in it's class, at the time. When I went to Mod, it became a battle of true driving, as everything that ran Mod at the time was pretty rung out. That was the best time in my racing, as the competition was fantastic, and the spread between winning and losing was measued in .100th of a second, great stuff. The focus required was pretty intense, I sure couldn't do that now.

Anyhow, back to the main focus of this thread, I will have my car running in a couple of weeks, so it will be interesting to see how my idle is. I decided NOT to play with the float and needle, so, other than the new top gasket, which might raise the float level a hair, I changed nothing else.

Wow, very informative stuff! I'm still fairly new to carbs and really appreciate all the info. Will definitely be taking a look now to see what's going on. Thanks!

Hardly Godly, just a LOT of time farting with theses things. PM sent about fixing the booster venturi.
