The 510 has been off the road for over a year and a half, resting with storage insurance on it. It expires on the 20th so I think its time for some road insurance for the summer.
The car was put away with a full tank of fuel with stabilizer added. Engine oil, coolant, and new brake fluid was also changed out before it was pushed up against a wall in the garage and covered. Battery was unhooked and checked/charged every three months. Fuel was drained out at the one year mark ( burned it up in my truck  ). So all that got us to today.
After fighting with a temperamental garage door opener this morning it was time to get this thing running again. Uncovered the car and went to work. Pulled the fuel line at the carb, turned on the prime switch for the fuel pump and spitted the remaining fuel left in the system into a coke bottle. With some fresh fuel dumped into the tank the pump was run once more for a stream of good fuel into the bottle. Fuel line on, clean the air filter, and pull the valve cover off and on to pour some oil onto the cam. With everything back together (and fire extinguisher ready as the car was still pushed up against the wall and would not going out the door if s%*t went down) I turned the engine over for a bit with no ignition and then primed the carb. I was kinda surprised that with the next crank with ign. on it came right to life with no issues. Ran the car up to full temp, checking all the lights and electrical as it warmed up. I feel Im good to go for insurance now with only moving the car away from the wall and tire pressures left. My big fear was buying insurance and then wasting driving time working on the car if there was some problems from sitting so long. I hate seeing cars sit that long as its not good for them, but being 2020/ busy with work, my free time was spent last year riding two new motorcycles around BC.
Im happy there were no problems. But hay, what could go wrong. ITS 510 DAY..............

Absolutely, great to hear from amd see your car again. I’m sure we’ll eventually do some drives this summer, when the regional road blocks get lifted, and hopefully you can join us.

This is the poster child for what I want mine to end up looking like- Ride height, finish, etc. Great looking car. 67 pages.... woof. That’s going to take some time to mine through....

Well on the bright side the clutch master did lasted 7 years  - but has finally started acting up. Ordered two sets of masters and slaves that just landed on my door step so it should be rolling again this summer. :)
My brother scanned these old pics he had of some of my old rides I did back in my teens, and sent them to me the other day. Man that was a long time ago. lol

Eh Chad,

Gods to hear from you.
Love the vintage shots. The deep dish D slots on the yellow car are awesome. I had a pair of these, they may still be at my fathers place. The burnt orange car looks really nice; Specialty dam I presume? I never saw this car locally, I’d have remembered it.
Coming out to 510 Day?

Thanks Byron,
Yes Specialty dam and the car was more of a red, old photo so its off some.
The trunk, hood and front fenders where from a place across the highway from Langley. Can't remember the name but they alway had a add in the buy&sell selling glass parts for 510s back in the day.

Cant believe that this build was almost 10 years ago. Time passes so fast.
Updates= Car was sitting for two years with rear exhaust taken off to put a quieter muffler on and covid19/work didn't help the progress much. Managed to get the exhaust finished enough to get back on the road but still need a tip put on plus Im going to make a heat shield over the muffler later to cut some of the heat down that you can feel in the trunk area on hot days. Also had to install new clutch master and do a flush as it packed it in while sitting in storage.
To do list that still needs to be done. Weather pack plug put on fuel pump wires for fast roadside replacement (spare under seat at all times). New exhaust tip. Heat shield. Decrease rear toe for a more enjoyable highway cruising experience.

Still on the fence about what I want to use on the inside fire wall and under the back seat over the rear dif for heat sound deadener. I have a box of Dynamat but can't get to sticking that crap all over the painted panels yet. Need some more time. lol
Was out today and drove around for hours until the heat got to high, (no AC :x ) Did get some pics though... I have to say the car is improving with every edition to quiet it down inside. Exhaust is just right, no earplugs needed anymore on the highway.
