Finished it up yesterday. Only thing left now is to weld a patch panel on the other side now. It's a rhd now. Can never go back I say.

Wagons have so much more bracing. I'd love to drill them out and weld them to this car. Definitely something I'll be doing to another car in the future.

Yes I am byron. Picked it up in Portland. Feel kinda bummed about the whole year/ dash situation. I'd trade it for a 68 SSS dash

Well I've done alot more work than just the dash. I posted it first because it was the most exiting news so far. Found out 68 hood hinges are completely different. If any one had a set or even one I'm interested!!!.

Rockers had some rust bubbles in a certain spot. Well I'm not doing full rockers. Just the rusty spots. I'm sure the is more rust under there. Going to patch it, spray a 3m body cavity spray, and seam seal. If it comes back it comes back period. There's more things to worry about like wrecking it , being stolen, or huge door dings. Also some shots of finally welding the 68 stuff in. It's a complete shell now

Did some filler work to the wiper area. Deleted the antenna. No antenna not 68 or 69-73. I'm sure there is hidden antennas out there. Used carbon fiber/ fiberglass stuff to fill that area and the areas on the a pillar where there was lead. Grinded the welds and used more filler in my problem areas and shot it

Decided to use a better hood. Less time and work for a better panel

Quarters/rockers are hell. I wish I could mount my car to a rotisserie. This was the worst quarter on the car. It was hit before I got the car them I was hit again. All surface rust. First time heating and shrinking metal. Think I got carried away. It was a learning expiriance. It was bad

You may not like that body work but you are good at it.

Makes me want to get back on my 2 door LHD 68.

I once asked James to adopt me so I could live in his garage.

I hope a little encouragement keeps you going. I love following your build - reminds me a lot of the Bronze build from 2003-2005. I just dug up some photos from that build tonight for another thread.
I just love how you've shuffled bits from early and late cars into one. And the engine bay shot with both steering box holes :D That shot was good for a chuckle.
Keep 'em coming.

I won't give up guys!!!! 510's are my job. Have been working full time 510 only body work since January. Love mixing and matching. Makes it something you want! Look I wouldn't have got this if I wasn't fully dedicated to datsuns. Got it in Idaho dragging two 510's home. One of them turned into my 4 door. That's right I'm building two cars for Me at the same time

Scored this bluebird heater from James. The rhd kit wasn't 100% complete. This was a major missing item. Looks just like a 68 heater. All bluebird heaters look like this? Maybe I can run that cool 3 hole piece that goes under the radio. I need a heater valve for it. This one is cracked. Heard about a computer fan upgrade for a 68 heater. Could apply to this. I need to get the heater core cleaned out. I always have that done to my cars. Live in Portland. Gets cold. Took it almost all apart to see how it's works and assembled. Any ideas? Also anyone have bluebird wiring diagrams? Mainly lighting and flasher parts. Lots of questions
