I have a few questions, if someone could help? Is this an original drain hole? Looks to well shaped to be rust? I just can't remember them having any?

Its been a long time since I have updated, sorry for that. Lots going on in my world. Including trying to paint a second house (in-laws) for this year. Enough send here is some progress photos.

Tested my new bumpers, definitely some different lines compared to the originals, but all one piece.

Then I spent some time putting in the new rear end. Lucky I did, the springs that came with my rear coil overs, don't clear. My understanding is that these either incorrect springs, or from a old version - Can anyone clarify? I have seen many others installing there coil overs with no modifications and also noticed that the spring diameter doesn't change throughout the spring - unlike mine. I'm P*SSED cause in theory these are meant to be NEW! seems as if the guy I purchased the car from stiffed me again!

Wow yes those shocks. I'm sure I've read a thread on here about poor rear fitment... I've searched but nothing came up thought it was this but they look different, upside down version: http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?t=28473 might be some useful info in there for you though.

Looks to me like the lower mounting point on the shock may be much thicker sending the shock closer, up against the inner well unless the swing arms pivots were incorrectly relocated towards the center of the crossmember. Take measurements then put a stock shock in there and see what you get.

3B, I'll take your advice and do some measuring up. The mount point looks thicker maybe because of the extra plate I welded in. It doesn't however effect the mounting point. I'll let know how I go.

kikiichban, yes the upside down version I did read that when I first encounter the problem, but thanks anyway.

Generally, I think the solution is some new springs. The next question will be what weight should I get....

I'm over in China at the moment, so not much progress is occurring by my hands, but before I left I was able to progress the car far enough so it could go to the exhaust shop.

A few shots of the engine sitting in the car, wasn't quite level yet when I took the photos, but did managed to get the cross member and the sump to line up in the end with a bit of encouragement.
