B210 brake booster install
B210 brake booster install
Hi.
I picked up a b210 brake booster. Do I need to remove the four bolts that are affixed to the firewall to install the b210 brake booster? Is that normal? I thought it would right in.

Re: B210 brake booster install
Yes the spacers on the booster take the place of the stamped steel plate that comes stock.

Ok. So I need to press out the four bolts that are I'm the firewall? I guess I have to if so the booster with spacer will bolt to firewall.
Re: B210 brake booster install
I believe they are pressed into the pedal box but yes, I think you are correct. It’s been a long time since I’ve dealt with a booster!

Re: B210 brake booster install
Yes. They were pressed in. I gave then I good twist from inside and they came out without issues.
Re: B210 brake booster install
Since I couldn't find any brake booster spacers I decided to make my own. I first designed them in my CAD program. Once I was was happy with the design and measurements I sent the file over to my 3D printer to test fitment and then final print. They turned our very good and fit very well. Next I'll have them milled out of aluminum or I might just make them out of a more rigid and durable plastic.

I'm using and creality ender 3. Very inexpensive unit but great results.
Re: B210 brake booster install
Here it is installed in my car.

Re: B210 brake booster install
I'm planning on swapping mine in soon. I have 2 other issues to deal with. The first is the vacuum port. I have a turbo charged engine. Do I need an "extra" valve to keep the booster from seeing positive pressure? The second are the bleeder valves on the MC itself. Does anyone make "block off valves"? I'm short on space and could use every millimeter possible.

Re: B210 brake booster install
Jeff, google "10 x 1 mm port plug" or similar. If you have any non turbo 4G63 heads around, I think the plug for the oil outlet that feeds the turbo usually may be plugged with that same size, IIRC.jeffball610 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018 17:37 I'm planning on swapping mine in soon. Re: B210 brake booster install
What am I plugging with a 10x1 plug? I have plenty of large ports to use for vacuum reference on the intake manifold, and I don't think I need to block anything off. Do I need a "one way valve" of some sort to keep positive pressure from reaching the brake booster?

Here's a vacuum diagram from a BNR32 with an RB26DETT. Note there is only 1 check valve and that there is a vaccuum receiver on the booster side of the valve to provide vacuum assist even while 2 foot rally braking etc. I can't think of any on the street examples where the can is necessary. Both my RB cars ran without the vac receiver as does every other swapped car that I know of and I haven't heard of any issues.
Cliff notes: don't worry about vacuum/boost and just use a normal check valve.
Perhaps you can get a brake master with the bleed ports on the opposite side to gain some room?
HTH.

Jeff, that reply was in reference to your questions about the Master cylinder. Maybe I misunderstood the question.jeffball610 wrote: ↑01 Jan 2019 11:27What am I plugging with a 10x1 plug?
