Post by NasaRacing510 »

anybody have any issues with the Tilton swaybars for the 510 ?

I bought a car and it has a solid and heavy 1 1/4" tilton front swaybar and a tilton aluminum arm rear swaybar setup..

Before I go thru the trouble of puting this stuff on my chassis, I thought i'd ask people who use them..

it doesn't matter how you spell it (both are correct), but how you pronounce it. :D

so no, he wouldn't have been making fun of him.

I might be interested in buying your rear set-up if you're considering selling it.

But to your original question. They are terrible bars, in fact, I know of a guy who put them on his car and it caused that handling to be so bad that the car flew off of his driveway while parked and landed on his neighbors mail box, then burst into flames. Plus the guy smashed his finger installing it, so you really should just sell them if you have the chance.

Not at all. Just looking for clarification on what part was aluminum.

For a street car the front bar mounts under the lower control arms so ground clearance is a problem especially with 13" wheels. I think there are pictures of Byrons car after he hit a road hazard with his Tilton front bar, caused quite a bit of damage. The rear bar needs the spare tire well removed or clearanced for the bar to mount. I have them on my street/track car. Kind of unique but I like them but I have most of the BRE stuff so will keep them on my car for nostalgic reasons.
