wilwood question

Post by htownsr510 » 08 Nov 2009 20:22

I am going to be buying the wilwood brake package from troy emrish but i was wondering since i am upgrading the brakes is it ok to be runnin the same 40yr old oem brake proportioning valve or do i really need to upgrade to a Wilwood adjustable brake proportioning valve?

What's your 40yr old proportioning valve from, cause a 510 doesn't have one.

It's just a bias switch - if the front or rear fails/loses pressure the switch is engaged in the direction of failure, turning the dummy light on. Even nissan calls it simply "ASSY SWITCH BRAKE INDICATOR".

Yes, the e-brake light comes on!

This is commonly mistaken for a brake bias valve.

There are P valves in the 240Z and the pick ups of this era, but the 510 did not get them.
