Flexible brake lines?

Post by jason »

Guys, I'm needing to replace the flexible brake lines front and rear on the 510, they are starting to crack. Any recommendations for local purchase? It's stock 510 calipers and drums ....

I've been using 280zx front lines for the past few years. I had to go digging to find the one rear sedan line that has two female ends, but the pass rear line I think I also used the 280ZX front flex line...

Be careful, as with most of this off shore crap we get fed, I did notice that the hex on the hoses were 17mm instead of the stock 19mm size. You need to be aware, and buy new clips for the smaller ones if this is what gets passed across the counter.

Hope that helps Jason.

I'm guessing that you got the 280zx stuff at Lordco then Byron?

Byron pretty much said what I was going to say. My front lines {280zx} came from Napa or Lordco. The back ones were from EBay = NO$...
In just two days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

Whats the length of the hard-to-find rear 510 line with two female ends? Lots of VW Bug stuff is 10x1 and I have one longish one on hand for my 3-wheeler I could measure.

Be carefull on the older VW brake lines. They had ""bubble" flare ends no the traditional double flare.
