Front brake caliper sliders?

Post by oldskoolcool »

can someone explain how a stock 1972 510 front brake caliper works. when i look online at service manuals it kind of looks like they all only pivot at the top. i have never owned a car this old, and i know parts are hard to get so before i dig in and F it up maybe someone can just chime in. i my pads are worn super weird like on a 45* seems wrong to me and im sure it is but i cant find info on how to dissassemble em

Your pads aren't worn. They start like that - and they wear to be parallel with back of pad. If you still have enough pad to see the angle - they don't need to be changed.
