Sub 10 inch Diameter rear rotor for 510

Postby Boy Blunder » 22 Jul 2014 17:04

Out of curiosity, I am wondering if anyone has found a rotor that is 10 inches or under that will work in a 510 rear disk brake conversion.

I am asking because I am trying to piece together a kit that will use the wilwood dynalite single caliper but still fit under a 13 inch wheel.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks!

That looks like a snug fit.

What caliper mounting bracket did you use for that conversion?

I have an H190 solid axle ('83 200SX) that we used 13" wheels on and the same Wilwood calipers shown in GREG510's pic.

It used the brackets and rotors off an '80-'81 200SX H165 rear (also the same rotor as on the '79-'81 280ZX). The bracket offset was correct, but the bolt holes needed to be welded up and re-drilled to fit the caliper bolt spacing.

All that said the '81-'82 200SX/'79-'81 280ZX rotor (Centric P/N 121.42014) is 269mm/10.6" and fits under 13" wheels with the 2 piston caliper. A more popular rotor is the '83-'88 200sx/'82-'83 280ZX rears (Centric P/N 121.42016) which has slightly smaller diameter of 255mm/10.0"

Both have the correct center bore to properly fit on the 510 IRS stub axle.
