Datsun Comp Strut 54303 22030

Post by obrut »

So I have one datsun comp strut part number 54303 22030, it is just the strut by itself, no hub, caliper, shock insert. Is this worth anything? Should I try and track down the other side 54302 22030 so I have a set?

As I recall, they required the Comp springs, so you would need to track down a pair of those as well as the opposite strut. A myriad of strut cartridges could then be adapted. Also, I think the spindle angle might be more biased towards negative camber vs. the stock struts.

Here's a scan of the page in the '82 Comp catalog. Factory 510 race suspension parts are listed at lower left. Interesting that the strut part #s don't match the p/n on your strut tube, but maybe that is the difference between a component and a full strut assembly. You can also see in the text that the springs are unique to the struts.
