Is there aftermarket calipers that use metric fasteners?
Re: Is there aftermarket calipers that use metric fasteners?
I search your thread and no mention of 280 struts. are you still running stock brakes? if so why not stock 280 brakes and 13s ?

The stock 280zx calipers are HEAVY. Going to an aluminum caliper can save a good amount of unsprung weight.RMS wrote:I search your thread and no mention of 280 struts. are you still running stock brakes? if so why not stock 280 brakes and 13s ?

Those tires and wheels are 28.5lb. With the tires I have now the tire wheel combo is 30lb. From what I understand my 15x7 wheels are light at just over 14lb. Those calipers in the picture are right around 3lb before the pads.i think you are about 10lb lighter just in the wheel and tire.
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Think I'm going to go with Z32 rears. Haven't decided on the fronts. I like the idea of brembo fronts. Anyone know a factory application that uses smallish 4 piston calipers. Smaller then the Z32 fronts.

I have a set of those in my shed!!! I saw them the other day. Thought they were steel (they looked rusty) I'm going to pull them out tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.

Have to stick with solid rotors. I don't think the super bike calipers will open far enough.

Some guys install spacers between the 2 halves of calipers to increase the allowable rotor thickness. Possible to do on the superbike calipers??
