T3 has a sr20 front sump swaybar now

Anyone tried it and with jbc crossmember?

I do I have the JBC V3. The swaybar isn't mounted yet as I have to still weld the mounts, but I can probably answer your questions.

Are you referring to this one: https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/510/ ... waybar-510
I had bought a front sway bar on ebay for my KA swap but it won't fit unless I grind down the old series McKinney cross member.
For that reason, I'm considering buying the new T3 bar but was curious about the design... are there performance trade-offs?

Yep that’s the one Funwithmonkeys has. To be comparable to a 1” solid bar in the stock location, the front mounted bar needs to be quite a bit larger. Something like 1.375 tubular or 1.25” solid.

I had to drop my 1” sway bar when I installed the JBC stuff and repositioned the engine so I am interested in building some blade style bars that are comparable in stiffness to what I had...

well jordan i have 2 here that you can copy the blade design off-- speedway makes quite a few "bars" and also some splined ends- this was a good starting point and better than "nothing" literally.. the solid mounting plates that T3 makes are nice and i believe would work with a larger bar- it would be nice if they make a larger bar for those of us with 300# front springs but thats not yet - and i have enough other things to do on these so messing around with fabricating swaybars isnt a priority yet -

I can confirm what Jordan said. The bar fits very well. Is easy to install and works well. It just needs to be bigger. I have had it out quite a bit now and on my car at least it is not stiff enough. A 1.25 solid bar in that location would probably be in the sweet spot. I'm going to look at the speedway bars soon.

With the TC rod to sway bar clearance being an issue on extremely lowered cars, FutoFab looked into making a similar forward mounted sway bar.

What we found was when you double the length of the arms, you need to increase the torsional strength of bar by roughly 4 times.

To match torsional strength of our 1 1/8" sway bar, the forward mounted sway bar diameter needed to be over 1 3/4".

Drawing from T3's online info, assumptions and my own vehicle measurements (all very non-scientific) my calculations put the T3 bar as being equivalent to a stock position bar with a diameter between 5/8" to 3/4".

Here is a link to a handy sway bar torsional strength calculator.

speedway has their own calculator as for arm length and thickness-- i would tend to believe what their ratings are-- my real race car has a speedway hollow 1.25" and i think its 3/16"? id have to check - it also has arms that are at least 15" long as the swaybar is mounted behind the cylinder head ..

im pretty sure that a 1.25" od bar will get to the stiffness required based on the arm length -

either way i wasnt able to figure out 100% if the futofab bar works on the JBC crossmember - and no one could seem to give me the answer.

futofab bar does not work.
