....A 2 door wagon, looks kinda cool, I have heard of a few done like this but never seen one, looks like it could use a one piece long side glass. not sure I am a big fan....I had always thought it would be cool to have a 2 door wagon though....cool project.

I always thought that the 2 door wagon needed the side windows to side like the Chevy Nomads, kind alike a sliding door in your house.

I've got a few ideas for the side windows but for now, I will black out the frames and tint them to make it look more like one piece.

David, Its Chris , owner of Redwiggler. Thanks for your message concerning the 68' grill. I can see Bambie cost me a lot of money when he did a cross body slam into "My precious". You and I live on opposite sides of the country. I'm new to the Realm and need help placing a classified add, still trying to figure it out. My first 510 was a mustard colored 71' wagon purchased in 1977.Then came a basket case 1969 4 door sedan which I crashed and survived which led to the 68' Redwiggler. I'm probably going to find a later model grill or make something custom with a spoiler because as you know the 1968 suspension is already very low and stiff. We are getting a new computer soon so with the help of a digital camera I will be able to share photos of Datsuns and parts for sale. Years ago when I lived in California I had a collection of 510 parts to support my 510 repair business. Unfortunately many parts didn't make the migration to Oregon in 1989. By the way in addition to the 68' 4 dr. I have a 1979 620 king cab named Blue Betty. I have a good collection of 620 truck parts that I have accumulated in Oregon. thanks for sharing your projects and returning the e-mail. I haven't typed this much since High school. Sincerely Redwiggler

Dave,

Did you ever finish the VG project? Thinking about going this route with my latest project and wanted to touch base

Hi Chip,

Reviving a thread from th dead on this snowy day?

No, this project is in stalled mode. I get too sidetracked.

If you are considering going VG, I have lots of what you need to make it happen. I'll give you a call.

David

Reading through this thread really has me motivated to get working on mine. Great work, and I hope you keep going.

I've got a 71 4 door sitting and a locked up vg33 I'm pulling from a 99 frontier. Planning on VH45 pistons and cams. If you have any pointers I would greatly appreciate it.

Unfortunately I sold the car due to health issues.

I did buy a VG powered 510 last fall to replace it.

Still have two 510s in the stable.

Yikes man, sorry to hear that. Glad you still have the ones you do though. I hope things get better, figured I'd ask as soo many forums feel "dead" these days... And I am embarking on a VG swap of my own (finally, EFI, in 2018).

Take care David!

No worries. I am doing well. I had an eye surgery that makes it difficult to see when under a car or under the hood. I had too many projects so it was best for this one to go to a new owner. I now have 2 running and driving 2 doors so I am happy. I'll start a thread on my new VG car this spring.
Enjoy The Ride!

Awesome, look forward to it! Once I start getting things done besides gaskets and seals I may start my own as well.
