I shall have to take some pictures of mine now that I have the interior detailed out. We had a hand-polished thermostat cap and a Datsun 1600OHC cover on it, I need to get a drill-buffer and wipe up my brother's aiming issues. I dumped a whole thing of friggin 40W on the exhaust manifold, so i've had the car on all morning, burning it off. I was going to take some mild degreaser to it, but I like the effect of burned on oil... adds a bit more protection to a rusty surface.

Speaking of which, anybody have any good exhaust header reccomendations? It's an L16, but if it'll fit an L20 B it'd be great!!!

I have found a couple of headers, one is black and the other one is polished and heat-treated so it won't lose its finish and turn to rust. What do you think? The muffler had fallen off not to long ago (heard about the fires down in Oregon? One of those was started by a muffler, which, happened on the same day as it fell off, in the same locale. ^_^ HEheH!

Right now we have a new muffler put on with clamps just to kill the noise. I would like to keep 2" all the way back if I can.

Yeah but come on, you love the datto's just as much as I do, and I know, I knows you want your car lookin' clean. If you don't, then why not keep it clean just to keep it running? We cleaned up the engine bay of my dad's S10 pickup, and it ran 10x better afterwards. ^_^
Finally! someone who cares about their engine bay and engine (even if it's only temperary) :D

And oh yeah put the polished header on when you do your enigine, it will look great and you can get your exaust done at the same time

Damn right. I think an engine bay should be kept clean at all times. Mainly, because when you're all dressed up to go somewhere, something BAD happens, all the time! And you have to fix it right there on the spot. I want my date to have KY included, not 10-30w. ^_^

Hey, besides, what happens if there is a fire, you know how hard it is to put out an oil-fire once it gets started? It takes a lot ot get started but once they do, its a BITCH trying to put out. Sort of like Gas on water.

Hell yeah about the polished headers.
I plan on taking the drill-buffer to the current valve-cover, maybe even ripping the head off one of these days and cleaning it up, maybe having it port/polished on exhaust side. Hell, maybe even drop some new seals in.

I think a clean engine is one of the best beneficial things you can do. Pressure wash it after a long trip, and before, even! It's not that expensive, hell, use a brush and a hose, some simple-green and clean up some stuff here and there. Hell, why not? Most of us don't have anything else to do. ^_^

Lmmfao, true, true.

You know, my friend absolutely hates the damned cars. I mean, seriously hates them.
LMMFAO!!!!!!
He says he'd rather have a 2003 Ferrari Enzo, or even a 575 maranello... the 510 doesn't have enough class.
Now I don't know whether to call that a compliment, or an insult. Heh.

You're right. Carbs, cam, EI, flat tops, porting, polishing, That does nothing, Just clean the outside of the engine and it'll kick anythings ass.
