Byron; from my experience with this modification; yes, the Z31 pump in a 510 tank with the plastic cup eliminates starvation issues, even on R-Compound rubber. Maybe Dave Lum will chime in with his impressions; as I remember he was VERY impressed.

Dave (all); the pump assembly holds the cup in place without issue once installed.

Eric: Amazing fab work, maybe someday I will be that good!

Glad to hear it. I will be shortening my pump stand and doing the install soon.

Is that a custom made sway bar or did you buy it pre-made? I have the same oil pan as you and my preivious sway bar setup goes behind the pan and won't fit the moroso pan. Did you make that also?

thanks

The front sway bar is a maddat. Clears the big pan with good room.

Ok Guys,

I know it has been forever since a update. I have been working on the car a little bit but to be honest I'm super busy are my real job and when I have free time I try to drive the roadster. But I do have a update of some changes and things that are coming along.

First off I had to install a overflow bottle. I decided to use a very clean looking aluminum one that I got through JEGS. To mount it I used a piece of extruded aluminum that was laying around.

I have decided to change the recirculation valve as I really liked the new Tial QR. So with the change of valve I had to change the intake pluming and then finish it off with a 1.5 inch cross over pipe so the system is completed and closed. After welding it all up I sanded, sanded and sanded then polished.

I have also decided to change the rear differential to a 2005 sti R180 that I found online that only had 4000 miles. I'm waiting of the custom CV's that making for it.

Also Michael Spreadbury as been working on the wiring when he has some spare time. The engine harness is done being rerouted and shortened. What he is doing with the fuse box and relay's is going to be amazing. Thanks for all the help Michael.

Can't wait to see what you do for the wiring, as that's one of my biggest hang-ups right now. Maybe I'm just scared to mess up.

Do you happen to have a front shot of you car? Basically, I want to see how low you Moroso pan is and compare it to mine. I see your using the SR mounts also. I used 620 mounts and it sags on the left hand side. ((
The car is looking amazing BTW.

So I decided on a valve cover color and to do the same as my roadster a candy apple red base coat + clear coat that turned out great. Now it is time to get really tricky on the coil pack cover.

Update finally,

I have been working on the car when I have time but everything I do is really small and don't have much to show for.

But have finally finished the Exhaust minus a hanger that I'm working on. I'm really happy with the finally product. 3" stainless system with a stainless flex and 3 v-band clamps so the entire system is easily removed.

I also finished the Rear custom CV's axles to work with the R180 STI Rear Diff that I picked up.

Finally I received the ECU that I'm going to be using a Tomei S15 Stage 1.

Wow, stunning build. Hard work and talent shows though.

I have a question: Did you buy the car with the VG33 in it? or did you install it the way we see it on page 1.

Did you enjoy the VG33 motor? I am in the process of building a VG34 right now for the old smurf. I have loved it, and swapping it over to a sr20det just seemed daunting and unnecessary masochism for something that looked so good and fit so well already in the smurf. Are you documenting power via dyno (vg33, or future sr20det when its running).

For sure, driving impressions of both would be great to hear once you have everything wrapped up.

Just simply amazing!! I enjoyed every page of the build so far. Does one ever sell a car like this once its done, or does it become part of the family heirloom?
