I have taken a couple of walks through Dennis shop, (he is my next door neighbor, literally) never saw a V6 modified or otherwise.
Pinkie was there with the little aluminum V8 (300 HP)
He did have a Rebello L-Series on a stand that he was proud of, (don't remember displacement but I think it was a 1600)(and a separate "engine room" with lots of other L series)
I have not been there in a year, but the last time I spoke with Dennis he had shifted his main focus to racing the MX5.
That is not to say he wouldn't do it, he is very ambitious and seems to work on his stuff all the time (he also has off-road VWs)

I have yet to see any proof of another running VG30DETT 510. I have heard rumors of them on occasion, and even once saw an attempt at one for sale on Craigslist (the motor was on mounts but that was about it). I know in Australia there's a VG30DET (single turbo) one that runs and drives, but that's it.

I only know of two running VG30DE 510's - one of them is my old motor and currently is up in Washington. The other was carbureted and was finished in 1996 and was in North Carolina or somewhere.

"Dennis never drove the car, because the power was too hard to put to the road making it a hand full to drive, and wasn't much fun". This is exactly how Dennis describes the V8 510 he has. The few times he did drive it it didn't work as he'd hoped.

The latest update is the exhaust and intake pieces have the final welds done on them and are awaiting cleanup and final beautification.

Kind of a boring update without pictures though eh?

OK here's the latest toy that will be in use when the car is running. I will be able to collect copius data like wideband O2, the usual MAP RPM temps, etc, and it also includes cool stuff like lateral G's. The dash is completely customizable and if one was clever you could replace your standard dash as it will display MPH, and anything else that has a sensor conneted to the DL32

I made some rough cuts of the splitter tonight and tried various splitter "lengths". I decided on 4in of splitter as measured from the center of the airdam. One configuration had the splitter so far forward it stuck out ahead of the front bumper

The splitter will be black but leaving it the as deliverde color gives a better idea of the configuration. Here it is with the dark side up

How far back does the splitter extend? I would think that extending it back to the front x-member would make a nice flat underside up front.

The edge does not need to be shaped a certain way, I could have shaped it the same as the lower part of the airdam but I plan on opening uo that center area and routing that airflow to useful places so I want to capture as much air from there as possible.

Agreed on it being nice if it extended back to the X-member, but this splitter only extends back about 4in from the lower airdam lip.

So is it only supported by the airdam?

Currently no but it's not done. It will be supported on the forward lip as you see on most cars with aggressive splitters. Splitters should be strong enough and have enough support that you can stand on them w/out damaging anything.

This is a side view of the small " splitter" incorporated into the Specialty air dams. On the race cars, Andy did a 4 " ish extension out, with support bars running from the front edge of the lip, to the top of the air dam. The force being applied to the front of these things is tremendous. The stability I get from this air dam at very high speed is quite amazing to say the least, and with some good shrouding for the radiator, the airflow is both minimized from under the car, and really forces it through the rad at speed.

How timely, I'm working on a splitter design at present too. I'll post a pic when I have something to show. I like your design and I love the DL32!!
