back in the spring I took the car to Bob @ toyo motors and had an alignment.
Did the winter swap of insurance to 6in and boy is she thirsty, compared to the wagon with a 1600. the 1600 in the blue wagon and Mandys red rocket get around 30mpg. now that is with a 5spd and mostly hwy. granted with a 1600 there's no kitty footing around, often in the secondarys to keep with traffic. so she commutes about 90km a day and gets 2.5+days from a 5gal jerrycan. with the z24 i burnt up the same can of gas within 120 to 150km.... thats like 15mpg. the foot does get heavy with the introduction of power but man is she thirsty. Ok I know im running 3.90s with a 27in mud tire but it was thirsty before its reincarnation. is the z24 just thirsty? or has my pollution control delete to the stock carb killed any economy?

Any idea what your A/F ratio is?
Maybe it's just burning plain rich and wasting fuel....
Just a thought, because you really should see to much of a change. The bigger engine has more torque - essentially you could be driving it around at lower rpm.

Re: 6 inches of Rust
Well the sun has finally set on the daily driving of 6inches and the rest of my dimes. 6inches has served us well for the last 3 years and 60,000km. but shes starting to feel like she needs a few jobs. even with the epoxy primer im starting to see bubbles on the flairs. fenders are shot, been welded up a few times but their pretty thin. rear bumper is toast. the z24 is starting to have a bit of rocker bar tick and consumes 250ml of oil for every 1500km..about a cup a month. I can notice wear on the super allterrains. the floor pans have been wet for months..... hard to believe only a few years ago I did a shell off resto......
after considering the depreciation (assuming I sold the car today looking the way it did) I pulled the plug and bought a 2013 Suzuki sx4 2.0L 6spd with selectable awd
