I took a few pics of the shell masked and ready for a respray. The roof has too much dust so I wet sanded and will try again. The first time I tried to paint the shell inside and out all at once and that might have been too much. I just dislike masking. As well I noticed another difference in a 68. The hood prop is straight and does not have the bend the later cars got.

When I painted the Bronze, I borrowed a pressure pot to do the job. Imagine what you did, than add a full cage to work around!

I too wanted to do the inside and out for the same reason, but overspray would make all the efforts for naught. You made the right choice - can't wait to see a picture of your car in the fresh paint section.

Well the painting is done and I've started reassembly. I now know too much about how a 68 dash comes apart. Luckly I have 3 to pick to choose parts from to make the best one. And having a spare good pad is worth its weight in gold (cad). The 12 year search for an ashtray ended with a craigslist ad in victoria. The timing could not have been better. And a dash from andrew got me away frm repairing the board on my old guage cluster. Thank god. Lol.

I got the dash together and will wait til the headliner and heater is installed before I put it in. I decided I want to be able to run stock rims and tires so I am taking the 280zx struts and brakes out and going back to stock. I can't find rebuilt calipers and and am hoping I can at least get a rebuild kit.luckly I have some cores and good used rotors. I replaced the brake lines and found a master with the bleeders on the other side so I think the SU airfilter box will fit. I ditched the single master years ago. I pick up the rechromed bumpers, taillight trim and DATSUN emblem sat. So it starting to come back together.
