i made this piece to replace the missing defrost hose. i can swap it out for correct part if someone wants to part with a spare passenger side. :D

i also took the steering box apart. cleaned it out and replaced bearings and seals i got from dat sport a while back. then bench set clearance and installed with Mathews aluminum brace.

got some 15x6 retro 4's from Futofab a while back and we love the look. thanks dave. :D how ever, the front clearance to the lower spring collar is to tight for me. so we ordered 1" shorter springs to give us more room. hopefully they will be here soon.

i find myself jumping all over the place on this car but its all forward progress. :D worked on the wideband 02 setup.we decided to put the gauge in the blank spot on the cluster were the clock would mount. so we cut out the back and i faced up a bracket to mount the gauge to. we are pleased with the look.

next is the sensor and cable. i drilled a hole and welded a nut to the header, for the sensor and mounted the connector on the firewall.

i can't install the guage yet cause of speedo cable routing. so i moved to finishing the oil cooler. we used a thermostat style sandwich adapter at the filter end. and an earls performance cooler. most earls coolers have -8 an o-ring fittings. but this one has pipe thread. guess its new-old stock. oh well another trip to mopac and another bridge toll  for some fittings and hose. fab up another bracket or 2, one out of stainless to look good. and we got er done.oh ya and a new place to mount a Datsport sticker. love to advertise for companies that support Datsuns :P

thanks and yes after a few years playing with this thing. its time. we will try to get it drivable this year, but i also want to repair a few "oil leaks" on the panhead. and i have my '37 plymouth pick up in pieces again. and there is also my '65 A100 gasser project that tyson sprayed for me last year to finish. i did the body/prep work, so i take full responsibility for any and all imperfections. he doesn't usually do this. but that one won't be done till next year. cause I'm getting old and slower. almost 50. oh ya, and the wife and life and work and all. you all know how that is.

well it took a national pandemic to slow down my sons social and work life so he would come over and finish his 510 :P
its been stored in garage for about 4 years since he stopped working on it but he came over this week and dug it out. it took him a while to remember were we left off. but we jumped in and loaded doors, put new seals and stuff and mounted them. installed fenders and hood.tail lights. trunk seal and lock set. he plans to keep going on it so we can at least complete this build thread. (I hope) i have to remember how to shrink and attach pictures.

If you are PC based, I see that windows 10 has put the image resized back into the power toys options - free upgrade right from Microsoft. If you’re running windows 7 or 8, the Image Resizer was available free as an aftermarket upgrade.
It’s the easiest way on a pc to resize images as you can do a whole batch at the click of one button on the right click drop down menu.

Look forward to seeing the car completed - it’s had some history.

then pulled doors down from wall were they have been hanging for almost 4 years.
laid them out and assembled new inner track felt (purchased from datsport a while ago). regulators, glass, latches, handles.
