Guys - it's time we all organize a track day again - join a group like PDC for a day where we can get out and enjoy our cars onthe track. I did it last year with PDC and it was a blast. And it was about as much time as I could drive ina day with four sessions.

Thoughts?

I'm in. I am hoping to do a few track days next year, it would be great to be on track with a bunch of 510's.

It has been many, many years since we had a ton of 510's on the track, I'm thinking 1997 thereabouts.

What also would be cool, is if someone could give me a hand to upload our track day videos onto the net, I have some great footage of all the early members out at Mission. I also have the video where I edited the camera view from inside my car to inside Don Nimi's tube frame 510...Don's car sounds soooo good!

That's when Bert Vorgon was born!

this is the only segment that made it, Don's 3 rotor RX7

That is something I could do for you. How do you have the video stored? Digital? Betamax? VHS? 8mm

YUP..all of the above.....

Actually, most of it is now on DVD, some with chapters. Been a few years since I have looked at them. This will be good incentive anyhow to drag them out.
One even has Titles at the beginning I did a play on the original motor sports channel...DIAMOND P Sports...anybody remember that? It has a list of all the drivers on it. It did the titles on Windows 95 and then filmed that with the 8MM, how archaic eh?!

Ok well the only thing I can't do is BETAmax and 8mm. It would take some searching for those machines. The rest are easy for me to do. I would enjoy watching some of those also.

They really are fun, in as much it was supposed to be a club track day, everyone is giving it hammer and tong. I can't think that there would be any video with as many 510's out at one time, maybe the East Coast event.

I will dig them out of the Bert Vorgon Archives this weekend and then we can see what we can come up with.

Sounds good. I will be going to see Andy shortly so that may be an easy way to get them to me.

Guys, I do still have a Sony Betamax machine, and it even has a built in as analog to digital converter built in. I know my buddy Mark used it to convert some videos to digital in the 90's. I have a bunch of rally stuff from the 80's still on tape (mostly Group B stuff). At any rate, if you need the machine, it still works perfectly.

Yes! I figured someone would post a pic, like that!

You guys are the hot bed of track days also. Our days have been done here for years, as our track rental got stupidly expensive just as our actual driving membership declined.

We now have to drop in , in other clubs track days, and while that is not an issue, it is NOT on weekends, so it is hard to get a collective group of 510's together that could take/get a weekday off.

I would love to get the car out on the track, that's what it was built for.

a couple of questions, when would this be and what would it cost. and do we need
a bunch of safety stuff.
