Decided to try a test fit tonight with a combo of random mounts I had laying around. Heard that stock 620 mounts work but they ended up put the engine at a crazy angle, at the moment have one 620 and one stock ca18 mount and the engine seems to be fine at first glance

Next up might try seeing how well the trans fits and go about running some brake lines.

This is a common misconception when building custom engine mounts for CA and SR series engines.

CA18DET engines are like SR20-series engines-- they are supposed to sit at an angle. See this image of how it was mounted in the S13 originally:

See the angle?

So, when building the mounts, do this:

Put a level on the bottom of the oil pan (side to side) to see what level is-- you can also do it across the top of the intake plenum, or across the shift plate on the transmission.

If your oil pan is solid, and un-dented, it should look like this (side-to side) when mounted:

Also put the level on your shift plate so it looks like this (side to side):

Hope that helps,

Yes!

While you're at it, take the time to get your driveline angles correct. It'll be worth it... I'm doing mine all over again. Hopefully for the last time!

Thanks for the specific angles to shoot for I appreciate it! I'm aware that the Ca and SR dont sit perfectly upright but with 2 stock 620 mounts this thing wanted to be basically laying on its side haha. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say a good 20 to 30 degrees.

Once I get the trans hooked up and can measure the angle at the shifter I think dialing everything in will be much easier instead of eyeballing it with loose mounts

I'm the one that originally posted that 620 mounts work. They do, since I've posted that I've learned that S13 and S14 and S15 have different motor mount angles, and there are 4 different 620 motor mount thicknesses..... If you get the right combo it works perfect haha.

Haha figured it must have been something like that, the one 620 and one CA mount gets me close enough that I can modify them to work I'm pretty sure. I remember almost throwing them (the 620 ones) out thinking I'd never use them for anything, glad I didn't lol
