This is the story of my 1972 Datsun 510 build.. I apologize but its going to be a long build... So hang in there with me!
A little back story.. I have been a 510 guy since i was little, (i'm 29 now), my dad used to SCCA Solo II his 1971 510 when I was growing up and i've always wanted one. Finally, when I was 16 I bought my first 510. I got it from my uncle for $500 (be jealous.. Its SOLID!). Unfortunately do to financial reasons it has sat in storage for the last 13 years.. Finally it is out of storage and the project is in full swing, I work on it 2-3 hours every night during the week and as much as I can on the weekends. I just bought another 1972 510 4 door, the red car in the pictures.. It is a donor car, with a very rust body. But it came with a L18 block, A87 peanut head, 240Z 4 speed, subaru LSD differential, 280zx front strut conversion, Z aluminum drums, adjustable front control arms, and fully modified and adjustable BRE style rear end and 44mm Mikuni Carbs... to start! ALL of this is going into my 2 door 510. I look forward to all your help and input in my build!

That's a nice bucket of starter parts, no doubt.
That appears to be a Nissan Comp header; the one to have if you're going to use a header. The carbs look like they need a once over real good. Hopefully the cam in the L18 compliments your need. Biv cam and nights carbs can be a bear otherwise ln the street. UT they'll sound great!
Keep us posted, looks to be a great start to a fun car.
