Chocolate covered circus peanut
Re: Chocolate covered circus peanut
Picked up the drive train for the coupe. Got it from Bill at Foreign Engines. It's a S15 SR20DET with 6 speed Figured since it's for the coupe I figured I better get the good one. Although it seems cool getting a front clip is more a pain than anything else. I'm going to put whats left of it on CL for free, hopefully someone takes it. Other wise I gotta chop it up. I spent today pulling the motor out. Thanks to Squirl for bringing it home for me. Wow it was exciting unloading it. Somehow we did it. Here are some pics.
That wasn't so tough, a SR under the hood of a coupe.

Added some weld nuts for the IC
Got everything mocked up. Still adjusting in this picture though. Think I might pain the IC black on this build. Hide it a little better.
Had to move the rad inlet, hopefully it will work there. I check on Franks car but who knows.
Making the pipe a size I can get couplers for... Stupid pipe and tube being differently measured.
Ground clamp broke mid project, this seemed to work rather well actually
Frank washed my motor for me.

Getting closer! I was try to get it ready for Canby but my wife decided to shatter both her leg bones near her ankle! Needless to say it was a pretty crazy week! Anyways here are some updates on the build. Finally got some paint in the bay!
This is the piece I cut out. It's the good side!
Epoxy and some mud!
Filler primer

Need a fuel tank for the endure car. I figured I could pull the coupe tank and use it. Since I had a tank Rich modified for it waiting to go in. Well turn out the coupe tank is junk. But it was good getting it ready for the new tank anyway. I gotta get this car going. Sick of seeing it sit in my garage anyways. So I pulled the tank, wire brushed all the rust and banged the tire well somewhat straight. Some idiot picked it up with a forklift!!! Dented the spare tire well really bad. Not sure how visible it will be in the photo.
HHHMM someone did some welding at some time in the past. Kinda scared to dig into that area later.
other side....
Found this under the tank.
hhhmmmm candy!!
Must be newish. Still squishy. Gas door still has part number on it.
Bam new!

Got some time over christmas break to tinker on my cars. My wife still worked (yes back to work!! So new job!!) so me and the boy did lots of fun activities. He's not quite ready for the shop so I wait for his naps to get things done out there. It's weird how they do things for what seems to be forever then one day like a light witch they change. My boy forever!!!! Just wanted me to carry him. Not anymore! Now he wants to walk everywhere on his own. So I of coarse I let him. haha
Well during his nap time I got the fuel lines done, tank connections figure out and done. brake lines back in (yeah I just painted them haha) and the batter cable almost done.
The best part! Engine is in!!! As an added bonus the clutch is hooked up and bleed, so 33% of my pedals are functioning. What else. I have the rad and intercooler back in. They need to be cleaned up and polished.

Eh Jeff;
The photo of the engine bay is very cool with the SR sitting in there now, but I'm afraid that the photo of you walking with your son with a huge proud smile on his face is way better!
Happy New Years my friend.
