I saw something like that at mt.shasta this year. Cept it was done like the old sparco seats. Had the same pattern. Matched the front seats.

Definately drop the coin to build a bucket rear seat. It will look damn nice. I'd have done it but I already spent too much on my interior...

Very cool. Looks like you have done your home work young grasshopper.

Are those Volks 17" and what offset are going to run?

We are building similar cars, and I am twice your age.

I wish my old man was as cool as yours at your age. My dad is into old Model A Fords and stuff that goes really slow, like stock 510's
I had 510's back in high school but that was becasue I could not afford a 69 ss Camaro or the insurance.

Keep us posted, looks like it is gonna be one of the nicest 510's around.

Hello,
Iam from northern cali and had that dime about.. 3 years ago(maybe more) It had a lz22(some hybrid motor I can barely remember) all done at troy ermish racing in fremont, ca. I had about 7-8 into it.nowhere near what I have in my new one. Sold it to some kid in so-cal. Wasa great car.

hey, i'm jim, the guy that bought that 510 off you. I just sold it again to fund my latest project car. the 510 was a great car, alot of fun to drive. I ended up re-wiring it because it had a sh*t-load of wiring issues and i figured that it would be easier to re-wire it than figure out where it was shorting. I sold it because i wanted more power than that L20b could produce and wanted to start from scratch and build a SR powered car. this time i think i'm going to go 240z route, but i'm considering building a 4 door 510.
Anyway, your new project is looking good, and thanks for selling me the 510 in the first place, it was a great first car. good luck with your second 510.

I have a set of 15x6.5 front and 15x7 rears Watanabe RS8's the offsets are +18 and +23. I would like to find a set of them in 16" but have been having a hell of a time finding some. It is a game of patience for some parts.

You will probably only have to run spacers on the rear wheels to push the rims out away from the rear control arm. 15mm most likely. Let me know if it works with ou them I would be curious to what other options I have.

Here is the link to my car.

^nice car!! thats one big turbo. You are not going wide flares in the rear...how are you getting traction? What size tire are you going to run? I just got back from the body shop and test fit the 16" volks to see if I needed to roll the fenders or not. Surprisingly in the rear they did not hit the control arms, and tucked in nicely. the fronts did hit the strut, so I will need spacers.

My wheels should fit fine since thye are 15". The tires will be 195/50's front and the rears should be 205/50/15's. I will rpobably run the stickiest tyre I can find that is street legal. My wheels still need restoration also. That is why I am still keeping my eye open for other options.

I think you will be able to run your wheels without spacers up front after you install the DATSPORT KIT. They advertise on their site that you can run up to a 40 offset without rubbing issues up front.

Did you test fit the rear with tires on the rims? Check to make sure the tires do not hit the inner fender well also.

Yeah, the engine I bought is a bit overkill. The engine was built to handle that turbo with no problems. I figured I would de tune it after a few dyno runs. The fuel injectors are 1500cc each. I think it is gonna be a little hard to drive around town without having some traction issues. (smile) As a matter of fact Ray the guy doing the fab work for me said I may have to go with a complete different exhaust manifold setup. It may have clearnace issues with the steering box. If that is the case then we might have to look into a power steering rack or a different exhaust and waste gate manifold system. He will know more in a few weeks.

I believe they're talking about an s12 strut, not a zx, when referring to being about to run +40mm offset.

Yeah..that mani looks pretty big and might have clearence issues. Is it a peakboost / full race manifold? 205's on the rear is what I am running...I am gonna be hurtin for traction lol. I had the tire mounted on the rim when we test fit it. Only problem was I still have stock suspension so I couldnt tell exactly if its going to rub(inner fender well) since the car is not lowered yet. I have not installed the front datsport kit yet so we will see. Ill post results :)

Yeah and with that kind of horse power the ride may be over quicker than with a escort.
