I was stoked to find the Wilwood part. This is something that solved most of my hesitation with doing the brake lines. It's not expensive either. Think it was like $75 shipped from Summit.

Got quite a few updates.
First I installed the Top End Performance camber plates. Pretty simple device. I can only get it to move about a half inch in for negative camber from stock. I don't know if that will be enough with the positive camber the S12 struts provide. I think I can modify them to get another quarter to half inch more movement, but I will wait and see. I'll take some pics of the camber when I install the motor again so the weight will be about where it needs to be. For now, here you go.
Here's the kit laid out.
Stock strut top.
TEP strut top. I have already cut the strut tower a little more for getter clearance on the other side. I will take care of this side when I start to disassemble the car again.
And now the exciting stuff. (for me at least)

Assembled bottom end. I guess I didn't get a picture of the EVO 8 pistons from the top.
ARP head studs.
Engine assembled.
White valve cover. I will likely paint some type of design on here for fun.
That's if for now. I'm still sorting out the custom clutch assembly parts and finishing sealing up the motor with small stuff like valve cover and oil pan. Then it's back in the car to hopefully get it running. I still need to sort out some wiring for the initial startup, but the parts are all there.
PS my $37 10 megapixle camera sucks!

I put the motor back in temporarily. I still need to sort out the clutch and some other small items, but I couldn't resist putting it back in the car and getting it off the engine stand. It will also give me a chance to finish up some engine bay items and see how the car sits with the new wheels and camber plates.

That looks super slick in there. How is the pan to ground clearance though? It looks like it hangs well below the X-member which are generally pretty low on our cars to begin with.

Quite a nice fit in the bay... Like defdes said, how is the pan clearance from the ground? Looks like a tiny stone could take it out. Are you going to dry sump the motor?

Amazing how short that engine is, even with the CAS or what ever that item is on the back of the head.

Not sure why I missed this previously, great build!
I'll also comment on the need for more pan clearence - I have impacted plenty of things (at speed) in a lowered 510, they all hit the x-member...

The subject of the oil pan has come up several times. It currently sits 4" off the ground. The front crossmember is just under 6" off the ground. Stage two of this build will include a custom oil pan/sump setup. The stock Mitsu unit is prone to oil starvation when oil moves to the flywheel side of the pan. In RWD setup, this would happen under acceleration, so I'm definitely going to do something about this.

great project, i am doing the same swap. you are further along then me though. I am going to pull the motor out of the donor Talon i have next week. I think i am going to go with the W58 trans (trying to keep cost down or ill never get it dont). Keep any progress updated.

Ya'all realize this project has been going on since 2007, and been in the planning stages since 2005...and it still isn't running?

Yes, this project is taking forever. I have run into many difficulties along the way. Very few are car related. I am in the process of finishing up the fuel lines and I am trying to have it running (not driving) by 5/10 OF THIS YEAR!
Major items needing attention are a finish brake lines, driveshaft, finish chassis wiring, and sort out rear CV axles. It is about 75% of the way to being a driving car despite the lack of apparent progress. I have been updating more on other forums. I will try to get more info for you guys in the coming month.

Stick to your plan - it happens when it happens. There are projects on this site that have way more time than yours does, don't feel bad. Besides, didn't someone just reiterated that a 510 is never finished.
