L supercharger
Just thought I would post some pictures. Supercharger is from a newer mini cooper, probably end up selling it. Starting on a FI manifold next.
RE: L supercharger
That is cool.
How much can it boost efficiently?
And whats the displacement limit for that charger?
Nice work on the pullies and what is the tensioner mounted to?

RE: L supercharger
I've thought about this and figured it'd never make enough power to be worth doing. The L series doesn't make a huge amount of power to begin with, I just couldn't imagine throwing what little power it has to something like a super charger.
i'm interested to see how this works tho.

Thats the point of a supercharger, to up the small amount of horse power it has and make more.
With the proper cam, fuel system and say max boost around 8 psi, that would make for a very quick L-series.

right, but I always figured you needed a good amount of power already to get even more power.vgwagon wrote:Thats the point of a supercharger, to up the small amount of horse power it has and make more.

You just never hear much about super charging a 4cyl. Usually only hear about turbos..
I'd like to see how a supercharged L works.

Back in the 70's, a fellow came out to the Boundry Bay solo series, with a Paxton supercharger on his 510.
When it worked...it was really quite fast.

That Supercharger looks almost to good for that L motor(oilyDirty front cover)
I assume this motor is used just for fitting?
