I have a diff like this one in the rally car. it is starting to break away easier than usual, so I need to rebuild it, but I have no idea what kind it is. It is a R180. It kinda looks like a Nismo LSD, but says LOM6 on it like a precision gear lsd. It is a clutch type 4 pinion lsd. Any help?

Re: Diff ID
id guess that the clutches for an R180 diff are going to be similiar(in size, not quality) & readily avail...
be sure to document it!!! i will be doing this eventually.

Re: Diff ID
So I contacted Precision Gear, and they said that my diff is not a precision gear diff. Any more ideas? Where can I get different clutches for it?

Re: Diff ID
Are you sure it's not a Nissan/Fuji heavy industries part? When purenissan/calmini was selling them they claimed "This is factory stuff!" If it's factory, then...Jimmer84 wrote:So I contacted Precision Gear, and they said that my diff is not a precision gear diff. Any more ideas? Where can I get different clutches for it?

Check with Chad @ Chico Nissan, or Riley at Lynchburg Nissan. It is always interesting what a 510-friendly parts department can find in the Nissan USA warehouses.Jimmer84 wrote:So only one of those part numbers is valid at my nissan dealership. Any more ideas?

Re: Diff ID
That's because it's an R180. It's definitely a normal R180 LSD, not a phony grip.hang_510 wrote:it doesnt 'look' like my nissan R160 unit...
