R160 LSD Rebuild Parts

Post by Jimmer84 »

Hey all. I have an older Nissan Competition LSD for the rally car and its starting to get a bit loose. Trying to find rebuild parts for it has been difficult. I called Nissan Competition parts department and they said only the thinner disk is available, the rest on back order with no time frame for delivery.

I'm looking for the clutch disks, plates, and beveled disks and washers. The pic is a copy of the 1984 Competition Parts catalog. I'm looking for #'s:
38432-21010-friction plate 1.65
38433-21010-friction disk 1.65
38433-21011-friction disk 1.90
38435-21010-spring plate 1.65
38436-21010-spring disk 1.65

Does anyone have a source for these parts? Anyone have used ones laying around? Any ideas would be greatly appretiated.

Would Subaru have the same parts being that we use those LSD units? Just a thought.

Yes, Subaru part are interchangeable. And no, Subaru cant get any of them anymore either. I disassembled it tonight and found the spring disk's inside engagement teeth are sheared off.

So...anybody have a junk lsd they want to sell pieces out of? Ill be putting a WTB in classifieds shortly.

Bummer Jim.

Near as I can tell, they might have last been available from Subaru in the summer of 2011?

But for reference:
Subaru R-160 clutch LSD part numbers:
Part # Description Unit Price
485907001 Disk Friction 1.65 $42.52
485907002 Disk Friction 1.90 $41.28
485937001 Washer $9.03
485937002 Washer $9.03
485937003 Washer $9.03
485877000 Plate Friction $42.52
485897000 Disk Spring $21.92

And I had posted the exploded parts diagrams in 2010 here:

and

Might help someone decipher part numbers in an Ebay listing?
