Eagle connecting rods

Post by bluesbrother30 »

Hi Group

Looking to build a race L18 motor. My understanding is that the stock crank is fine to use. The rods are changed however, and was told that Eagle rods are quite good if used with the correct bolts. Can anyone tell me the part number for the Eagle rods and/or for which make or model car? Not altering the stroke. Was surfing E Bay and did not see Eagle parts listed specifically for a L18 motor.

some guys use the slightly longer L16/L24 rods and get pistons made with a shorter pin height. perhaps look for L16 or L24 rods

From an 'ol time 510 racer:
"Rebello builds the L18 with an increased 2mm stroke and using a Toyota rod that is longer than the L18 Rod. This increases stroke and gives you an improved rod stroke ratio which is really important. The resulting volume using .040 pistons is 1860cc...not quite 2l but a substantial improvement over the stock L18. "
