Isn't the modern open R160 smaller than the old R160?

I would have to measure gasket for newer cover at local part store

At one point in looking for a fresher 3.9 to substitute for the original 4.375 I bought a Legacy R160 off eBay. Got it delivered and the R&P case was smaller. Diff mount spacing was the same. I don't have info anymore on exact year I ordered, etc., so take it for what it's worth.
