Mounting r180, question
Mounting r180, question
Putting in my r180 LSD diff. Need to know where the c-shaped metal spacers are placed. Between the diff and the crossmember? There are 4. Any help would be appreciated, little hard to tell by the exploded view in the manual.

Re: Mounting r180, question
A lot depends on your drive shaft angularity when the diff is in place. So, what you need to do is put it in there with say the shims on the bottom 4 bolts. Then, measure the angle of the transmission at the out put shaft. Then, measure the angle of the diff input flange. You want to be within 1 degree or less if you can, adjust the shims as needed.

As Bertvorgon said those shims go on the bottom. But go here and have a read..bertvorgon wrote:A lot depends on your drive shaft angularity when the diff is in place.
