Swapping mount studs to bolt on Differential

Post by TheHeretic »

Have to drop my tranny here in the new few weeks and want to swap out the studs in the diff cover to bolts to make R&R easier. What bolts do I need to buy and would lock washers be suggested as well? Found these? https://www.belmetric.com/12mm-c-2_1046 ... 3t9b8nk785

Thanks in advance!

Doing this stud to bolt conversion has saved me endless hours of hassle on Z's and 510's.

They are M12 x 1.75 threads in the diff covers for R160 and R180 you got that right. Lock washers are required.

Just measure the stud threads and get a bolt the same length. 30mm is probably just fine.

Agree - did this, and the last time I had to remove it - it was so much easier. Highly recommended...
