Yeah, I had to ask because I've found myself grabbing hold of anything I can find while we were tuning the 260. I am so glad that car has good BIG brakes. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one riding shotgun with Russ and silently screaming "MOMMY!!!!!!!!". I feel normal now. Thanks!

I love that feeling when a car launches and it has so much power you can't hardly move forward. There was a guy that lived here that had a 280zx turbo and I don't know what he had done to that thing but it was crazy when that thing took off. And I absolutely LOVE that 260 with the rb26, I was planning on doing something like that on my next project :D

Let me know if you need a RB26, my little brother has one that he was going to put in his 240SX. He has decided to keep the little rev-happy RB20 in it.

Back to the 510, I have decided to go with 280ZX steering arms and lower LCA's. The steering arms are shorter (quicker steering) and should go well with the power rack I'm using. I also ordered rear LCA bushings and new bearings, front and rear. Next I need to order Bump steer spacers....

O.K., I took a few days off from the 510 but got back to buisness again a few days ago. I found out that the stock 280ZX LCA's need to be shortened to fit a 510. So, I cut them off and had my brother weld on some heim joints (I call them piviot ball joints??) only to find out that now the T/C rods dont have the same bolt pattern to bolt up to the 280ZX LCA's. So, I cut a small section out of the middle (between the bolt holes at the LCA) and welded them back together. Now the front suspension is for the most part finished.

On to the steering...after I discovered where the "center" position was for the rack, I now needed to offset the rack to the drivers side about 1/2". That now provides enough clearance for the P/S lines to clear the engine block. :D I just need to make the rack mount stiffer.

Now to try to get the last bolt out of the rear LCA without cutting something and installing Byron 510's camber brackets.......

I wanted to post some pics of Jamie and Russell's shop. It's pretty ridiculous :)

They did the install work for my dad's coilovers and Wilwoods on his 72 Lime Z. He had dinner and they brought Russell's GTR over so perfect photo op with all the cars :)

I've been working on the RB powered Z a lot lately. Two shattered oil pumps from hitting the rev limiter, driveshaft angles being slightly off, turning over 8000RPM's and starving for oil under max deceleration. Many hours and a $1700 Tomei oil pump......The Z is good to go. Now I have time to work on the 510.

A little update on the "General"...Rear crossmember is finished up with the exception of the companion flanges to mount the cv shafts to the stock axles. Those should be made next week. R200 long nose clutch pak limited slip. Byron's camber plates were used and worked great. The power steering has proved to be a bit more difficult. To make things work out we decided to move the front crossmember forward 1". This allows enough clearance for all line installations and I can still use the stock location for the turbo oil return line.

Yesterday I went to the junk yard to find some P/S fittings and came back with some nice seats and a few console pieces (from some Hyundai) that I think will work with some modding.

I'll post pics tomorrow.
