1989 240sx ka24e cuts out at 75mph 3:17 PM 10/14/2009
got a 1989 240sxmotor trans ecu an wiring harness in out 510, that seems to cut out at 75mph. seems to do it only in 4th gear. it's like its just killing fuel, and doesn't come back until speed drops below 55mph. have tried to change maf, but did the same thing. any ideas?

Some/all? Standard 240sx KA24E ECUs have a rev limiter. Can you find an automatic ECU?
Do you have the ECU pt # from the one you have?

If it was a rev limiter, wouldn't it do it in any gear at the given RPM? Surely that has been tested...? Closest I could find is A 11 B02 G48 for a manual 89 240sx (federal US) There were at least 28 ECUs for all the possible KA24E 240sx cars.

KA/Es want to see the output from the VSS, else you get the cutoff.

The hail mary motor, wiring, and ecu swap paid off, third place finish in the Ottawa Rally, and sixth on Saturday in the Keeweenaw Challenge! Thanks for the help!

this should help. i had the same issue with my car. i got a #11 ECU and it worked perfect. i cant tell you why it works but it does!!!
