Wow!!
I am glad you guys are on the ball. Thanks for the advice. I'll have to really look into the spacers issue.
3/4" of spacers? man I am way off.
I'll check on the weekend and report back to you guys as the car is at my buddy's place right now.
There is no feeling like driving a Datsun!!

Hi Greg,
Would this be the harness attached to the old Auto tranny?
It has four wires. According to the wiring diagram two are for the starter and two for the reverse light.
I jumped the two for the starter because the car would not start. after this it started.
is there another switch I have to jump?

No it is part of the harness by the passenger side head lights.(it is not by the tranny)
It has been a while since I did this and am pertty sure I have not moved it from its origanil location.
I am at work right now,but I am pretty sure it has 6 wires to it not 4.
But if that way woked for you ,I know other people have done it different.
I did not jump any other wires other that the one I did.
