Great information.
I am going to start my VG34 very soon.
I was concerned about the having to machine the pistons so I asked for status.
This is one of the best write ups that I have found on VG34s.
Not concerned about having a non-interference motor.
Just wondering how much clearance between valve and piston to expect?
I modified my crossmember to allow the use of a Nissan Quest oil pan on the VG33 that I am running.
Has anyone here actually built a VG34?

Any news on the VG34? It has been a while since you last posted Mr. Jones.
As a matter of fact I removed my VG30, rebuilt it, reinstalled it, and drove it over 1,000 miles since your last post.

Yup, bringing this one back from the dead!
So, does anyone know what happened to this build? Did it work?
Just curious after all these years!!
And Happy New Year!

Lol, wow, it's been a long time. We are getting closer. Life has been so good, even with the chaos of earthquakes and virus.
Just waiting on new flywheel bolts that were incorrect by accident (thanks Whitehead performance). I have a google photo album here anyone can check out on it.

This week we got the oil pan on. Oil pickup and tube worked with the original oil pan Kelvin built. It went together so simply it almost seems concerning now that I think about it.
My close friend JR who tunes all my stuff, and a very talented mechanic, he has had time off from teaching high school physics because of quarantine from virus. Also had amazing conversation with Jim Wolf about the whole project. Very helpful.
Why so long sitting, well life and business is just crazy, and so many projects automotive related. The car has been sitting safe in the air, and knowing it's safe and not depreciating is peace of mind. That said, enough it enough and quarantine time is being well put to use.
