Bert, if that deadbeat doesn't pay up I have some cash in my pocket for a windshield. Let me know.

Windshield update:

So, after phoning PRESIDENT OBAMA, I now have the windshields that were in the STATES! That being said, in discussion with my glass guru, until I see the FULL order of 10 here, to cover all of us that pre-ordered, I am not going to let these two go yet. I am physically going to pay for and pickup the two windshields that are here now, next week.

IF..we get the full order of 10, intact, then I will commit the two extra windshields, to EOOT and M33PM33P.

.290 by my caliper.
my original windshield being thicker and heavier. Even when I lifted the new chinese unit to install I could feel the difference in weight.
removed Nippon glass = 0.270"
chinese replacement = 0.200" (thailand "Precision" seal and glass from DLsocal)

the other issue is that the chinese piece is ~1/4" wider
im guessing that this is why the seal is spreading apart along the vertical edges :?

anyone have experience shaving the edges down???

polishing the pits and wiper scratches is an option...

Morning Byron,

When ever, I am going into the plant this morning, to take the 510 over to Andy's, and I will be leaving there about 3:30 when Matt comes to pick me up. Not sure when I will be at the plant, so let's just wait till the AGM,

Picked up the first two windshields...right away you can tell they are way firmer than the Chineese stuff!
Cost was 350 +gst, as we were quoted.
Merlin gets the first two, as he was coming to town anyhow, and needed one right away.

Hi Merlin,

I have yet to install my triplex glass. I'm getting ready to order seals from Datsport but I would like to see how your's goes in first. What seals are you using or planning to use? Also, are you installing the vent pieces in the back? Lastly, what roof insulation are you using? Penny for your thoughts.

Regards, Nelson.

I ordered part number 72610-23100 from Nismo on Saturday. They took my money and sent me a confirmation email. I was not going to mention this until I actually had the part. To keep the Nismo nay sayers quiet. For $85US plus $10US ($18US to Canada plus some taxes) shipping for an OE part I thought it was worth a try.

yah i got most of the weatherstrip stuff from nissan last fall... all still in stock.

picked up the 2 windshields from Specialty Eng this afternoon.. got stuck in that mess on 99 for almost 2 hours! Thankfully Andy and Tracey were still there when I got there at 6. Picked up RCA's for my other car and Tracey had some NOS Hawk Performance pads for Stock Rotors and Calipers.. gunna try them on Granny, plus add some creative brake cooling as per Traceys suggestion.
