Oversized Alt Pulleys

Post by Derek » 19 Jan 2010 16:15

My dad is looking for one of these for his 240Z vintage racer. I know Byron has made them before, but does anyone know if an off-the-shelf or easily modifiable (IE bored, make some spacers) off-the-shelf solution exists?

Thanks!

Figure you could swap in a different diameter pulley from another L-series alt? What's the diameter of the one you have? Get some of the L-series guys here to measure their's and come up with a good swap.

I can measure my alternator pulley tommorrow for you if you like, Dave Christie made mine, and Specialty made my water pump pulley. Dave and I never had a problem with our alternators, after slowing them down, and that is with turning the engine to 8,000.

Edit: I see on one of my other pictures it is 4" in diameter

Yes what is that? It looks like some sort of harmonic balancer
