I have to vote for no holes also. It is great to see that someone has done something so good for this community.

I would go for no side marker holes and also no bumper end mounting holes. Most old timers bent the bumper tab away and don't use the hole anyway, for the small parking lot bump insurance. If a customer wants the hole(s) let them do the deed. I think the no holes would broaden the market. You would just need a cad drawing of where the holes are for the people that would want them.

I came here to post the same thing everyone else has already posted.

Presumably those holes would be made by a punch and a die (built into the stamping tooling), two pieces of tooling that won't have to be initially designed and then periodically changed during the stamping process. I think we just helped to reduce the cost of the parts we all want to buy some day, good job group.

Dave, this is great, thanks again for taking this on.

Well it seems the majority prefer blanks (no holes).

As for the tooling, the first "hit" forms the overall shape of the part. Then it goes to the 3D CNC laser cutter, this is where the holes are cut and all the excess "flanging" is trimmed off. Then more stamping processes to form flanges and returns.

Where the marker openings do not receive any further forming they can easily be left out during the laser cutting process.

Thanks for the input, including those representing CA & NV

Yeah, no holes but with with marks so the end user can choose to cut and drill themselves. That would be prime.
