This new programmable distributor and ingition system from 123Ignition that has been discussed recently on hybridz.

There is an L4 version as well.

That's pretty cool. I wonder how it would compare to something like MegaJolt:

Megajolt is totally different. Its a standalone fully programmable, crank triggered system. Its definitely better from the programability angle and accuracy as any crank triggered system is. I would say if you have FI, then this system would provide better tunability.

123Ignition's device gives you a brand new distributor and enough timing programmability for 95% of the crowd. I just can't stick a pertronix in a 40 year old datsun dizzy, or use a similar old, worn variable reluctor gapped datsun EI dizzy anymore. I want to know what my timing curve is, and believe it will be in the same place in 10 years, and that I can change it as my engine changes. (we all know how THAT works, don't we??)

Cost is definitely "up there", but it's adrop-in, two wires to the coil-done-easy. Mounting a trigger wheel on your HB isn't something you do in 15min.
