Rock Auto Windshield

Post by S15DET »

Has anyone bought a windshield from Rock Auto?
What brand was it, any concerns?

Thanks

That would be the question...is it Chinese or Pilkington.

Chinese thinner and not the best heat treat, Pilkington done to full DOT standard and thickness.

That being said, I still have my Chinese one in my car and have had no issues other than it is getting that very light chipping as summer times go by. There is no doubt that it will be in rougher shape in a few more years, as much as the original was after 40.

I will need one as well due to storage mishap! I would like to get a Pilkington. My old one was damaged from road wear anyway before I broke it!
I might have to find an excuse to drive north! Anyone need any body armor? ;) https://vimeo.com/14327236

I'm in for a Pilkington too if another group buy happens.

First I would have to phone the glass shop I dealt with, just to see if that works.

Then, we would need to be closer to an amount that makes our buy a good deal. I think I ordered 10 last time.

Right now I will go look for my windshield file, buried somewhere in the Bert Vorgon archives.

I need one. Mine has some wiper rash. Count me in.
