Mounting Template or Guide for Mirrors

I've tried searching but can't seen to find anything to help correctly install a set of factory mirrors. When I bought my car they had a crappy set of aftermarket mirrors but even after removing the driver's side one the original mounting holes are nowhere to be found. So now I will need to drill them again. Only have one chance at doing this right. Any assistance would be much appreciated! - Ryan
