I am trying to decide what to reinforce
the inner wheel wells
to prevent rust from water leaking
also
inside, at the bottom of the doors

my friend says I should consider something like henrys roof (tar) that doesn't dry
I was considering lizard skin

anybody recommend something ?

For what it is worth, this is a product I have actually used for a variety of things. Drys hard and almost smooth, seals like anything. I have it on all my inner fenders on my 510, the front of my Vintage trailer, and, we used it to coat our mountain bike battery packs.

Not expensive so you could just try some on something and see what you think. I hate that classic type rubber undercoating crap, it weighs a ton and makes a mess.

My two cents.

PPG DP40 Etching primer using a brush and dab it on the inside of the door so it flows down in between the panels and pinch welds. It eats into the metal and protects beautifully. Naturally it's designed to be used on bare metal but will still protect. Only way that area will rust will be from the otherside. I did this on my 510 in '95 just before paint but it needs to be top coated within I believe 24 hours. I just brushed POR-15 over it being it's inside the door.
