OEM Nissan windshield/ back window seals part numbers?

Post by rsj »

Hello all.
I have new, Nissan-bagged OEM windshield and back window seals with the following part numbers:
79710-21000
72610-A5500
I was hoping someone can confirm these are the seals that have the groove in them to accommodate the stainless steel strips that are stock on my 1971 U.S. model 2 dr. 510 sedan ( I took one out of the package, but provision for the strip isn't immediately apparent in the seal profile.
Thanks!

Looks like the front 72610-A5500, is from 10/69 onward and would take the later trim.
It superseded 72610-23100.
I would love to find a 68 front seal.

The rear also appears to be later. My catalogue doesn't give a superseded date but 79710-2100 replaced 79710-21002 I'd expect the earlier number is the 68 style.

the 68 wide trim seals are available @ http://www.datsport.com/body-rubber-fro ... n-sss.html I have gone both routes nos and datsport and every 510 after will get datsport seals. why mess around with 30+ year old rubber

Thanks Robin, I should have known that. I used there no trim gaskets on my last restoration. It was very nice. I have used the standard trim gaskets from them on a previous car The corners were not as tight holding the trim as I would have liked.
