Hi
I'm Peter from Oelstykke, Denmark. I just got member because I'm going to build a 1800SSS after FIA homologation No. 5397 for historic racing. Google lead me to this forum.
Ive been heavily involved in historic racing for the last 15 years, both as driver and arranging historic racing events. I'm right now driving Porsche 944.
In my younger days i owned a 1600SSS rallycar for some years and had a lot of fun. It went because a Golf 1 GTI wich was much more comfortable and it was i wild streetcar in 1980 with a 0-60 in 9 secs.
I've missed the 1600SSS ever since and been looking for years. I found one now and it has been rallycar so its a big project to bring back. We are nogociating the price right now and my speculations goes about buying one in US and pay the 3K $ shipping or restore the one here in DK.
But anyway I'll come up with some news soon.
Would there be someone here who could send me a copy of the homologation papers? I'm most interrested in 5397 but 5355, 5265 and 1530 would be interresting to read too.
If anyone can tell me how to post pics i have a few from the 1600SSS i can post.

Hello Peter, and welcome to The Realm. The FIA paperwork I know of is here:

If you end up finding other papers and would like to share a scan, I'd love to host them as well.

Looking forward to pictures!

Thanks for copies of homologations
Here are 2 pics of my car back in 1980. It had twin 45 Webers and made over 160 HP at 8000 rpm and had 4.11 with LSD. Rollbar and Bilstein rally suspension. The alloys where named Cobra as i remember. My farther was forester so i had alot of fun driving in his forest when he wasn't at home :-) It handled so perfect on the limit on gravel. As you can see on the front fender, sometimes over the limit.
About the car i think i'll buy it has rust here and there so how many sheet metal parts are to get these days? Please send links if you know where to buy

I just received new fenders and valence from Futofab and they look great. The install of them will be documented in my build thread.
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?
